History of the Warners Bay
Christian Education Association
The Warners Bay Christian Education Association (WBCEA) was first formed in 2006 with the purpose of providing a Special Religious Education teacher for Warners Bay High School. At the time of the establishment of the Association, it was asked to also take on the responsibilities of supplying a teacher for West Wallsend High School, as the churches of the area were unable to support such a project. The Association agreed to take on the responsibility.
In 2016 the WBCEA was approached by the Cardiff Christian Education Board to take on the responsibilities of supplying teachers for both Cardiff High School and Glendale High School. The Cardiff Board was unable to recruit office bearers for the Board and thus was not in a position to continue to function. However, the churches of the area were still willing to support a SRE teacher at both High Schools.
The WBCEA met and agreed to take on this additional ministry opportunity with the support of the existing churches in the Cardiff, West Wallsend, and Warners Bay areas.
The vision of the WBCEA remains the same. It is to make available to every student at Warners Bay High School, West Wallsend High School, Cardiff High School, and Glendale Technology High School the opportunity to learn and discover what it means to be a Christian and have a vital faith in Christ.
